COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho -- Coeur d’Alene Police searched for a suspect wanted for robbing a young woman near North Idaho College.

It happened early Wednesday as the woman walked near Garden Ave. and Hubbard Street.

The suspect approached the 19-year-old woman and demanded she give him her backpack, according to police.  She refused and the male lunged at her.  He forcibly removed the bag from her shoulder as she fell into bushes.

The bag contained gym clothes and a water bottle.  It is described as a nylon drawstring cinch bag with a North Idaho College softball emblem on it, said police.

Police said no weapons were displayed or mentioned during the robbery.  The victim stated she had never seen the male on campus before.

The suspect is described as a white male in his early twenties, 6’0” tall, very skinny, and wearing a black hoodie.  He was also wearing black sweat pants and new Nike white tennis shoes with a red swish on them.

Anyone with information on the crime was asked to call the Coeur d’Alene Police Department at 208-769-2320.
