SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. -- Officials said an investigation is ongoing after a fatal two-car collision Friday afternoon.
Spokane County Sheriff's officials responded to the collision that killed two people on Friday, July 26 at around 7:15 p.m. Officials said the driver of a car crossed the center lane and was hit by a pickup truck on West Seven Mile Road.
The Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office identified one of the victims on Tuesday as Mikhail Y. Vasyukhnevich, 25, who died from blunt head, neck, and chest injuries.
Authorities said both vehicles had three occupants. Those in the pickup truck suffered minor injuries but the two passengers, a 26-year-old and a 21-year-old, in the first vehicle died. The 24-year-old driver is still in the hospital and suffered serious injuries.
Officials said autopsies on the two passengers were completed on Monday. The investigation is ongoing.
