WOODWARD, Okla. (AP) -- The National Weather Service says it had received at least 120 reports of tornadoes by early Sunday.
Five people were killed in Woodward, Oklahoma where lightning struck a signal tower for the town’s tornado sirens. Officials say three of the five killed were children. It’s also being reported that 89 homes and 13 businesses were destroyed.
The storm system has weakened as it heads east, but forecasters warned that strong thunderstorms can be expected as far east as Michigan.
