SPOKANE, Wash.—Two armed men kicked in the door of an 80-year-old Spokane man and gave him the scare of a lifetime on Sunday night.

Authorities asked for help on Monday to hunt down the two men who terrorized an elderly Spokane man during a home invasion near Scott and Pacific Avenue. Officers said one man was armed with a gun while the other had a baseball bat.

Police spent Sunday night trying to piece together what happened at the apartment around 9:00 p.m.

Two men kicked down the elderly victim’s doors according to officers. Police said the culprits assaulted the elderly man and a woman who was with him.

Neighbors helped the 80-year-old fix his door on Monday said they are disgusted by this vicious crime.

“It's very very sad in my opinion,” said Gene Nolin

Police said it is possible the suspects were just trying to burglarize the apartment when they were surprised by someone being home. Officers arrived on the scene within five minutes of the 911 call, but the suspects were gone.

Medics treated the 80-year-old victim at the scene. His female companion was transported to the hospital with injuries to her face.

The victims described the suspects to police as a Pacific Islander and an African American. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
