SPRAGUE, Wash. -- The area around a commercial building that collapsed in Downtown Sprague has been fenced off.
The building was located on 208 West 1st Street. The entire north side of 1st Street was fenced off. Officials said many businesses nearby had to be shut down temporarily as a result.
The Lincoln County Building inspector was concerned about the possible danger posed to buildings attached to the collapsed structure.
Heavy rainfall was suspected in the ceiling collapse September 6. No injuries were reported.
The building's owner said one of the walls of the structure appeared to be bulging outward days before the roof caved in.
The structure was over 100 years old.
