CURLEW, Wash. -- The Ferry County Sheriff's Office confirms an apartment fire is still burning out of control Tuesday afternoon in Curlew.
Officials say at least three people have been taken to the hospital with injuries as result of this fire. We do not know yet the extent of their injuries. Two of them are at Ferry County Memorial Hospital another was taken to Harborview in Seattle. Three more people are unaccounted for at this time.
The Sheriff's Office, Curlew Fire Department, Curlew Ambulance, Republic Fire Department and U.S. Border Patrol were all on the scene as of 5:00 a.m.
The pictures posted here are from a viewer. He tells us this apartment building is a local landmark and used to be a school.
All residents have been evacuated and the Red Cross is on scene assisting them. Members from the Inland Northwest Chapter of the American Red Cross are also assisting residents there.
