SPOKANE -- It has been five years since Spokane has seen a dry Thanksgiving Day, but sunshine lovers have a reason to be thankful this year.
After several days of stormy weather, Thursday looks clear and sunny for the Lilac City.
Spokane’s last dry Thanksgiving Day was back in 2007. Temperatures were in the low 30’s that day.
In 2008, Spokane picked up a trace of rain. Rain showers drenched the region in 2009, but it was a mild day.
In 2010, it was bitterly cold. Spokane woke up to 8 degrees and saw a couple inches of snow stack up on the ground. Plows worked the streets, cleaning up what Mother Nature left behind.
In 2011, temperatures were above average, but it was wet across the Inland Northwest.
The rain is expected to return on Friday.
