WALLA WALLA, Wash. (AP) — Agencies in Walla Walla County are getting some federal help for last winter's nasty snowstorms.

The county's Emergency Management Department says the Federal Emergency Management Administration is providing $305,000 to nine agencies or private nonprofits — including Walla Walla County, Walla Walla Public Schools, the city of College Place and Whitman College — to reimburse some of their snow-removal or other costs incurred during near-record snowfall last December and January.

Emergency officials say the money will go toward building, roof, road, bridge and transit projects.
