ABERDEEN, Wash. (AP) — Aberdeen Fire Chief Dave Carlberg says damage appeared extensive from broken pipes at Robert Gray Elementary. Classes are canceled Friday at the school.

KXRO reports broken water pipes also forced the closure Friday of Cosmopolis Elementary.

In Kent in the past four days, the fire department reports it has responded to 80 water sprinkler alarms and other calls for leaking or ruptured pipes.

The fire department says much of the damage is just starting to show up as frozen pipes thaw.
