WENATCHEE, Wash. (AP) -- The Washington State Patrol says three people were killed and two others injured in a head-on crash on Highway 97 north of Brewster on Tuesday afternoon.
The Wenatchee World reports two Bridgeport residents -- 42-year-old Shannon D. Santacruz and 24-year-old Theresa M. Santacruz -- were killed, along with a 46-year-old Okanogan woman, whose name has not been released.
Two passengers were taken to a nearby hospital.
A Washington State Patrol report says the woman from Okanogan was driving north around 4:40 p.m. and crossed the centerline, striking the vehicle driven by Shannon Santacruz. All of the passengers were in Santacruz's vehicle.
The report says everyone was wearing a seat belt. It's unknown whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
