Seattle rapper Macklemore is among the latest to hop on board the Ice Bucket Challenge, raising awareness for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
During a concert in Germany, Macklemore had the bucket of ice water dumped on him in front of 30,000 fans. Watch the video
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was one of the people who nominated Macklemore to take the challenge. In turn, Macklemore has nominated former Seattle SuperSonics Gary Payton, Shawn Kemp and Steve Scheffler to take part.
The ALS Association said Monday it has raised $15.6 million between July 29 and August 18 thanks to the Ice Bucket Challenge. That’s an 867 percent increase over the $1.8 million raised during the same time period last year.
