SPOKANE, Wash. -- A new project starts Monday morning that will close off one of the routes up and down Spokane’s South Hill.

Crews will be working on High Drive between 29th and Bernard Street.

It is part of a project  to make the area more pedestrian friendly.  It expected to cost nearly $1.3 million.

The city estimates work on the project will continue through October.
