Brides often worry if it’s going to rain on their wedding day, but Jennifer Faulkner never thought to worry about the power going out and a major wildfire raging just outside her wedding venue.

“You have to roll with it, right? There’s no reason to waste your time turning into bridezilla,” she said with a chuckle.

The high end resort Sun Mountain Lodge in Winthrop is just like every other home and business in the area - no power. They lost it two days ago.

With winds whipping, flames from the Carlton Complex Fire continue to devour every hillside in sight.

“I’m fine actually. I have the people I love around me. It is what it is,” said Faulkner.

It should be the busiest weekend of the year for Winthrop businesses, but with no power comes no gas pumps and no way to cook food.

But the show must go on. Thousands still showed up for the Rhythym and Blues festival, with an ominous skyline as their backdrop.
