SPOKANE, Wash. -- Police arrested a man early Monday morning in connection to a report of a rape near Queen and Nevada.
Police responded to the home where the rape was reported shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday to investigate. During the investigation, police said they saw a man watching them from across the street. When officers approached the man, he took off on foot.
Police caught up with the man near Queen and Nevada around 1 a.m. and determined he was their suspected rapist. Spokane resident Kenneth Williams, 29, now faces first-degree rape and first-degree burglary charges.
Police said the victim did not know the suspect and Williams was her neighbor.
Detectives secured a search warrant to collect evidence inside Williams’ home.
