SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- Friends and family of a woman battling ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease, held a fundraiser Sunday to raise money for her to get a new wheelchair.

Jenny Hoff was diagnosed with the disease eight years prior, at the age of 47. Doctors told her she had two years left to live when she was diagnosed.

KREM 2 News introduced you to her back in 2009.

The fundraiser was held at Aracelia Mexican Restaurant in Spokane Valley.  The goal was to raise $5,500 for a new wheelchair.

Friends and family raised money by serving all-you-can-eat spaghetti, meatballs, bread, salad and dessert for $12.

There was also a silent auction and raffles.
