NEW ORLEANS - The Louisiana SPCA is offering $1,000 to anyone with information that leads to an arrest or conviction of the person seen throwing two young pregnant rabbits out of a car window in Metairie.

According to the LA/SPCA, on Tuesday afternoon, a good Samaritan witnessed a person throwing two young rabbits from a car window in Lafreniere Park.

Currently under the care of Dr. Gregory Rich at the West Esplanade Veterinary Clinic, both rabbits suffer from broken legs and are in fact pregnant.

The LA/SPCA is offering a $1,000 reward to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator(s) of this act of animal cruelty.

The perpetrator(s) face a felony crime of aggravated cruelty to animals and shall be fined between $5,000 and $25,000 or imprisonment with or without hard labor for 1 to 10 years, or both.
