SPOKANE, Wash.-- A local group of musicians seized a unique opportunity at Bloomsday Sunday.
Bands like Toxic Animals set up their instruments along the race course to play for the runners to support a good cause.
They set up at the intersection of Boone and Lindeke. The bands were collecting donations and diapers for the Vanessa Behan Crisis Center.
The charity provides 24-hour child care. It is a cause near and dear to the members of Toxic Animals’ hearts.
“Some of us didn’t have a place to reach out to when we needed it. And do we really appreciate the way Vanessa Behan Crisis Center operates,” said singer, Chris McClure.
The bands raised more than $300 and dozens of diapers about half way through the race.
