Seattle Seahawks running back Christine Michael made a dream come true on Saturday for a Texas teen who has dealt with her share of serious health problems. He took her to prom.
Taylor Kirkwood, 18, of Anahuac High School, is autistic and, until surgery a couple years ago, she suffered from scoliosis.
Through it all, Taylor keeps a positive attitude. It's a trait that earned her the title of Anahuac Homecoming Queen.
Her mother’s cousin went to high school with Michael. It’s through that relationship that Michael told them he would take Kirkwood to her prom.
Kirkwood picked out the perfect pink dress, and Michael matched her with a pink shirt and bow tie.
“I'm just here for Taylor,” said Michael. “It’s a blessing being a part of it. Like I said, she's a beautiful kid. I'm very proud of her.”
“I'm so happy to go dance and have a good time,” said Kirkwood, adding, “I think he’s cute.”
