Poll:
Should Spokane City Council members get a raise?

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Spokane’s Salary Review Commission took some public testimony Thursday on a proposal to give local city council members a four percent pay raise.

Under the proposal, member salaries would rise to more than $31,000 a year. The salary for council president would rise to more than $57,000.

Any raises that are approved would go into effect in January 2015.

Spokane City Council members are the third highest paid council members in the state.
