COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho -- Police said they recovered a 2006 Chrysler 300 reportedly taken during an alleged burglary on Sunday. Police said they found it on the 1900 block of East Montana.
Several thousand dollars worth of rare silver and gold coins were stolen in a burglary early Sunday in Coeur d’Alene.
It happened around 12:55 a.m. when the 54-year-old homeowner returned home to find an unknown man standing in her doorway and a car parked in her driveway. When she asked him what he was doing in her home, a second man emerged from the car, according to police.
The second man yelled at her before hopping in her car and driving away from the car at a high rate of speed. The man who was in the home then jumped into the truck in the driveway and fled the scene.
The victim went into her home and found her disabled father was unharmed and in his bed.
Police said the thieves took two safes filled with rare coins valued at a total of $250,000. The suspects also took prescription medication belonging to the victim’s father.
Both suspects are described as while males; one is described as heavy set and 5’8” while the other as thin and 6’0”.
