Man stabbed while working on car in Spokane Valley

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- Authorities said a man was stabbed Wednesday night while he was working on his car.

Deputies responded to a stabbing call near S. Woodward Road and E. 35th Avenue around 7 p.m. When they arrived on scene, they found a man lying on the driveway holding his stomach and they could see blood on the victim’s shirt.

The victim said he was working on his car inside his garage when he felt a sharp pain on his right shoulder. He said he turned around and saw a man dressed in all black, wearing a black ski mask, gloves and he was holding a knife. He told deputies the suspect was about 5’10” and about 165 pounds.

The man told deputies the suspect attacked him and stabbed him in the abdomen multiple times. He said the suspect ran and he tried to chase him before he collapsed in the driveway.

The suspect’s car was described as a red Pontiac Sunfire.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released for seven puncture wounds.
