SPOKANE, Wash. -- A new Target will open this summer on Spokane’s South Hill. The project will also bring changes to the busy street in front of the store.
City planners met Thursday night to discuss possible ideas to help with new traffic on South Regal once Target opens.
When developers announced the building of the Target, they said a stop light and more turn lanes would improve traffic. Some drivers are curious about how the city will handle the new traffic but are not worried.
“I think they can control that all right, I presume they will put a signal up there,” said driver Don Miller.
The development will not only have a Target, it will also have four other stores on the lot. People know all of these new additions will bring more cars to the area.
Many drivers said they do not mind if there is more traffic on Regal because they are excited to see Target come to the South Hill.
Developers said Target should open in July of 2014.
