OAKESDALE, Wash. -- People in Oakesdale are cleaning up after floodwaters.
Many living there said all the melting snow caused what was almost a flash flood. They said one of the main streets in town was practically a river.
“I was just hoping it didn’t last as long as it did,” said Auto Shop Owner Larry Gardner.
Several volunteers began setting up sandbags and pushing away water from the town grocery store. The water hit some people’s houses too.
“So I come home and there’s about six or eight inches inside the house,” said Steve Bolyard.
Damage was minimal for most of the town.
