What's the deal with Jerry Seinfeld and his "secret project"?

During a radio appearance on New York's WFAN on Thursday, the funnyman dropped a lot of hints about a hush-hush "short-ish" film or video coming "very, very soon" that features co-stars from his Seinfeld TV series.

While Seinfeld was evasive about the project, he did confirm that Jason Alexander will appear in it as George Costanza, "the short, stocky, slow-witted bald man" he played on the NBC sitcom from 1989 to 1998. He also said that Seinfeld co-creator Larry David is involved, though he won't appear on camera.

Speculation about the project took off earlier this month after Seinfeld and Alexander were spotted outside Tom's Restaurant in Manhattan. On the show, the diner was a stand-in for Monk's Cafe, where Seinfeld's characters often met for meals. (Tom's Restaurant is also the subject of an upcoming documentary.)

More hints from Seinfeld:

He said the project is neither a Super Bowl ad nor an episode of his Web series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee -- then added coyly "it's not NOT those things, either." (Get out!) He also said it'll be longer than 60 seconds and will most likely be a "one-and-done" deal. (That's a shame.)

Stay tuned.
