SPOKANE, Wash. -- Spokane Police said a man who called them to report strange noises on his roof was arrested Thursday night after confessing to having a gun hidden in his home.
Authorities said officers were getting ready to head out of the North Spokane neighborhood when the caller, Kyle Wood, provided them with the incriminating information. The man reportedly told police he not only hid a gun under his porch but he was also forbidden to have guns.
Officials said Wood told officers he heard footsteps on his roof. He appeared to be convinced someone was walking around up there but when police arrived, there was no one there.
As police were preparing to clear the call, he revealed he stashed his rifle under the house’s front porch.
He also disclosed to officers that he was a felon and was not suppose to have a gun.
Spokane Police said admissions like Wood’s happen more than you think.
