Locally produced movie beats out big named blockbusters

Spokane, Wash. -- A locally produced movie opened in downtown Spokane Friday and was a big seller over the weekend.

“Different Drummers” sold the most tickets of all movies at River Park Square AMC. It beat out heavily marketed blockbusters like “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” and “Lone Survivor.”

The film takes place in the 1960’s and shows numerous events taking place in Spokane.

The film’s director said the film will be showing again next week and hopefully into February.
