SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- The State of Washington has been seeing issues on the Healthcare exchange website. The call center in Spokane Valley has had a troubled start because of the issue.
Leaders of Washington’s Healthcare Exchange want calls to be answered in about 30 seconds. The average call time is over 20 minutes.
There are still bugs in the website wahealthplanfinder.org. Managers said they are tweaking the site and adding some additional directions to help consumers avoid those errors.
The Spokane Valley call center takes the majority of calls for anyone looking to buy health care in the state. They are adding 145 new staff members because of the large amounts of calls they have been seeing.
As of October, 50,000 people have signed up out of one million uninsured people in the State of Washington.
The government hopes to get the number of uninsured people in the state down from about 15% to 5% by 2017.
