SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- The memorial for one of the University High School students killed in a car crash drew a crowd Friday afternoon.
Hundreds of people came to Valley Fourth Memorial Church for Josie Freier’s memorial. Many people were dressed in purple. Others wore McKenzie Mott’s, jersey number. Mott was also killed in the crash. Mott’s soccer team attended Freier. The team said they did not know her well but they said they are family.
“They don’t want us to mourn their loss but to celebrate their lives and what we did get to share with them,” said U-High Soccer Player, Shelby.
The U-High soccer players did not play with Freier they said they will play for her from now on.
People from across the community dressed in bright colors and celebrated Freier’s personality.
“She was just a nice person and was nice to everyone even if she didn’t know you,” said student, Hunter Taylor.
