SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- A family in Spokane Valley is worried about a loved one who did not return from a camping trip in late August.
The Spokane County Sheriff said multiple agencies have listed Don Bucknell, 49, as a missing person. Authorities said they have not launched a search because they don’t know where to look.
The Bucknell family is now searching for answers. They said Don went camping on August 28 and told his neighbor he would return the following week. He never mentioned where he was going and has not returned.
“That’s odd,” said Don’s brother, Bruce,”It’s not like him to tell someone he’d be back Tuesday and not come back.”
Bucknell’s family is asking for the public to help locate Don’s truck. They said this could give authorities a place to start searching. Don was last seen in a white 1984 Toyota pick-up. If you see this truck you are asked to contact police.
Friends have checked the Colville National Forest, where Don normally goes camping, with no luck.
Family members made fliers and reached out to the public on Facebook.
The Bucknell family said Don does suffer from depression but they do not think he would hurt himself.
