SPOKANE, Wash. -- Several new businesses are set to come to the Gonzaga University District in what is now the old Burgan’s Furniture Building.

In a little more than a year the old Burgan’s Building on Boone Avenue will look completely different.

An extended stay hotel will move into the upper levels of the building along with several restaurants and shops on the lower levels.  This will include both the main building and the old warehouse building.

The renovation is being done by GVD Commercial Properties who bought the Burgan’s building back in 2008. The company said they have already reached a deal with companies to lease the space once construction is done but they can not say who they are.

The company could not say how much the project cost. The city has valued a project like this one at over $6 million.

Construction is expected to be over by the end of next year.
