A man is dead after a freak accident involving a storm drain in Fife.
The accident happened around 8 p.m. Friday at the Bella Sonoma Apartments on the 2300 block of 62nd Ave.
Police say the victim was taking trash to a compactor when he dropped his keys into a storm drain. Investigators say the man removed the grate over the drain and fell in, face first, after reaching for the lost keys.
A neighbor saw the man struggling and called 911. Medics arrived on scene and transported the man to a hospital, where he died.
