MOSES LAKE, Wash. -- Two people were arrested and two stolen vehicles were recovered Tuesday after several Grant County law enforcement officers corralled the man and woman while they were trying to flee on a stolen motorcycle.

A local resident called 911 around 9:30 a.m. to report he was following his Chevrolet truck, which was stolen on Monday. The two suspects led several Grant County Sheriff deputies and Moses Lake police officers on a chase through fields near Roads 3 and South-Northeast before the pair crashed.

“This was a great effort by everyone involved,” said Sheriff Tom Jones. “The truck’s owner gave us a play-by-play as he was following his stolen truck, MACC dispatchers kept him and responding officers linked together and up to date, and Warden police and Moses Lake police helped us net the two suspects.”

Richard B. Ferguson and Melissa Jo Ferguson of Moses Lake were arrested and taken to the Grant County Jail. Both face charges of two counts of possession of stolen vehicle. Richard Ferguson also faces charges of felony eluding police.
