The Seattle Seahawks have signed veteran kicker Sebastian Janikowski, the team announced Friday..

Janikowski is signing a one-year deal. He replaces Blair Walsh, who had an underwhelming year in 2017.

Janikowski, who has played his entire career with the Oakland Raiders, is pushing retirement at the age of 40. He spent all of 2017 on injured reserve.

He has an 80.4 percent accuracy on field goals in his career. Janikowski is known for his powerful leg, having made 55 field goals from 50 yards or beyond in his career. He nailed a 63-yarder in 2011, which tied the NFL record at the time.

The Seahawks also signed Jason Myers in the offseason, but Janikowski will likely have the advantage going into training camp.

Walsh made just 72.4 percent of his kicks for the Seahawks in 2017. That includes missing all three in a 17-14 loss to the Washington Redskins, and the potential game-winner in the final minute of a 26-24 season-ending loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

Seattle also signed quarterback Stephen Morris to have another arm on the roster behind Russell Wilson. Running back J.D. McKissic and defensive lineman Quinton Jefferson signed their exclusive rights free agent contracts for the 2018 season.
