An ugly finish to the Seattle Seahawks game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 14 has come back to bite Seahawks coach Pete Carroll.

Carroll walked on the playing field during the final minute of Sunday’s 30-24 loss when two of his players were ejected and another had to be restrained from fighting Jacksonville fans who threw items such as plastic cups and popcorn.

According to Tom Pelissero of USA Today, the league has motioned to fine Carroll $10,000 for improperly entering the field against the Jaguars.

Jaguars assistant coaches Pat Flaherty and Keenan McCardell also received fines, per Pelissero.

The loss did not sit well for Seahawks defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson, who threw a punch in the final minute during a brawl that included defensive end Michael Bennett and Jaguars’ Leonard Fournette.

On the next play, more roughness ensued, and Quinton Jefferson was tossed out of the game. While walking to the locker room, fans threw a number of objects at the Seattle defensive end and Jefferson attempted to climb into the stands to fight the fans involved.

The Jaguars confirmed in a statement on Monday that any fans involved would be banned from attending games indefinitely.

Carroll, who was also penalized late in the fourth quarter for unsportsmanlike conduct, was apologetic for his teams actions on Sunday.

“Everybody is remorseful,’’ Carroll said. “We don’t want to play like that. We don’t want to look like that, ever.’”

While Carroll was unable to escape the messy ending, his players were a bit more lucky. In a hearing from the NFL on Monday, the league announced it would not suspend any of the players involved in the late-game melee. As of Friday, those players have yet to receive any fines.
