Crews respond to garage fire in Spokane Valley

According to the release, crews made an aggressive attack on the garage in an attempt to keep the fire from spreading into the living area of the home.

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Spokane Valley fire Department responded to reports of a residential structure fire Saturday morning.

Upon arriving at the scene located in the area of Sunderland and 42nd, officials said they observed a fire in the attached garage of a home.

According to the release, crews made an aggressive attack on the garage in an attempt to keep the fire from spreading into the living area of the home.

Reports show the fire did spread into the top floor of the house but was quickly extinguished.

Crews said no one was home at the time of the incident.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Spokane Valley Fire Department.

With the recent snowfall, SVFD wants to remind residents to make sure their neighborhood fire hydrant is kept clear of snow.
