If you follow me on Pinterest, you probably know my favorite board on the planet is my Funktified board. I love all things funky, redone and super cute. These doors my mom picked up would work perfectly for that board! Check out the pics below of her turning someone else's trash into a funky headboard. 

This is the before picture of the doors my mom picked up. They have some serious potential! You'll see one set of doors below, the other set is being repurposed for my house...pics of that to come! 

I'm not sure if you are aware of this or not but my mom is the female equivalent of Ty Pennington. She owns more power tools than the average man and can redo just about anything. In this case, she painted the doors green, covered them with stain and then roughed them up a bit. The roughing them up is key because that covers up any imperfections and makes it look like you really know what you're doing...

Here are the completed doors which made for the perfect headboard on her new king size bed. The lighting is a bit yellowed here but you get the idea. Super cute and seriously a cheap project! We have always mounted our homemade headboards directly onto the wall, you can attach them to the bed though if you'd like. The wall was just easier to do.
