Birthday are to celebrate and make that person feel unique and special. Many families have birthday traditions, the kinda thing that make the big day even better. Check out these frugal and fun traditions below:

1.Ask your child for his favorite meal and make it for him/her: It's all about them!

2.The family can go around the table sharing something special about the birthday boy or girl: This is also great for family bonding and a way to talk about fun memories as well.

3. Do you have a digital photo frame? Show pictures of the birthday kid from birth till now, kids love to see pictures and it will be a trip down memory lane. My son loves hearing the story of how he was born, just hearing that mommy went the hospital and that the nurses bathed him is something he loves to talk about.

4. Make a birthday pillowcase decorated by your kids: Hang it somewhere visible where everyone can see it, the family can add drawings, notes and trinkets all week and the birthday child will be so excited to open his new pillow full of goodies!

5. Balloon it up:  I love this simple but unforgettable idea from Craftymoods.com. Have your video camera ready to capture this surprise and excitement!

Remember it's the simple things that bring the greatest joy.
