Summertime is a perfect season for pool parties! I recently styled a pink and turquoise pool party for a sweet little girl turning seven. Since most pool parties are located outside, I tried to keep the theme simple yet cute.
A great idea when planning your party is to start with your general theme and invite. For this particular party, I went with a pool party printable and then based my theme and décor around the invite. A printable party set is a perfect idea if you are working within a budget. Once you purchase the file, it will be emailed to you normally within 24-48 hours and you can either print it yourself or take it to your local print shop and have them print it professionally. From a personal experience, I can print off my party package from invites to cupcake toppers for a guest list of 40 and spend around $25.00.
If you do not like to bake, go to your local grocery store and order plain cupcakes with icing to match your theme and simply embellished them with a cupcake topper. For my cupcake toppers, I used a food pick and taped the topper do it or you could also use a plain toothpick as well.
I also made the famous birthday batter popcorn (mention in a previous MSQ post) and let me tell you, it was a hit! Instead of regular chocolate, I wanted to make sure my popcorn matched our theme so I purchased color chocolate melts at Michael’s. It is made by the Wilton brand and comes in over 10 different colors. They normally run around $2.99 a bag but with your 40% off coupon, it will cost only $2.
The favors were my favorite part of the party! You don’t have to spend a lot on favors! I purchased flip flops from Michael’s at 50% off which made them a little over $1.25 each. Goggles and squirt guns all came from The Dollar Tree. To add a little extra decor, I purchased beach balls and pool noodles then threw them in the pool before guest arrived to jumpstart the fun!
As you can see, having a super cute party doesn’t mean you have to break the bank! Be resourceful, be creative and make sure you have fun while doing it!
