This morning's news segment was all about cooking from your stockpile. WAIT! I know what you're thinking, 'Uh, isn't that the point of the stockpile?' Yes, it is. But, how many of you have actually tried to cook from your stockpile until it is gone? Most of us cook and replenish it on a weekly basis but I have seen some of our readers who have actually cooked from the stockpile until it has completely disappeared, then they began to stock up again.
This could mean weeks or even months without having to go grocery shopping. This also means, you have to be very creative. One woman in a recent workshop told me she was able to cook from her stockpile for an entire year. This meant, she only went to the grocery store for perishables like milk and eggs (although you can actually freeze those) but her grocery bill obviously dwindled to next to nothing. Talk about savings!!
Could you imagine not going grocery shopping for a month? That would easily save me at least $400! How many of you have tried to eat from your stockpile? Let me know, I'd love to hear about it!
