Back to school shopping is in full swing, not only for school supplies but back to school clothes as well. One thing I noticed over the summer is that both of my boys changed sizes, this made my hopes of re-using some of last years clothes quickly go out the window. In typical Money Saving Queen fashion, I have been scouring the internet in search of school clothing deals.
Then, it happened.
jcpenney contacted me last week and asked if I would take my boys shopping! Uh, yes! When I was younger, my mother always took us to jcpenney's for back to school clothes and just the week before, I was in there shopping not only for my boys but myself as well. I wanted to share with you a few tips and pics from our shopping trip:
First, picking out clothes. My oldest son was absolutely thrilled. He's digging through Okie Dokie clothing (a jcpenney brand) and finding tons of soccer and football shirts...and they were half price too! The selection is amazing and the matching pants are on the same display which makes it easy for shopping mommies on the go!
When my son spotted these shirts, he actually yelled, 'mom, they have a clearance rack!' Yeah, he knows me. These shirts were marked down as low as $3.99 plus we found shorts and pants at the same price! They were 70% the regular price which is certainly good enough to stock up on and being that we live in Oklahoma, we can still wear short sleeves for quite some time.
This is my youngest doing what he does best....looking cute. Ok, so he's not much of a shopper but he did figure out that he could hide in between the clothing racks and also roll around on the floor. Yep, the floors were clean too so that's a plus. =) My oldest firmly believes all of their clothing needs to match so every shirt he bought, he picked out one for brother too.
Here's the result: 9 pairs of pants, 14 shirts and 2 pairs of shorts only $184.00!! That's a savings of $197.56! WOW! Almost every single thing we bought was 50% off which is awesome and just in time for back to school. We loaded up on long sleeve shirts for winter and pants too. All of the items we bought were from jcpenney in-house brands Arizona and Okie Dokie.
As you can see, the boys are very pleased and their momma is pleased too.
