SPOKANE, Wash. -- A musical collaboration out of Spokane is transforming into a project with national implications. Folk music icon, Chad Mitchell teamed up with KREM 2 News’ Randy Shaw to release a new album benefiting Honor Flight.

The non-profit organization raises money each year to send World War II veterans to Washington, D.C. Now an upcoming CD could help send dozens of aging veterans to see the war memorials built in their honor.

A new record label asked if Randy Shaw would be willing to do a CD with Spokane's folk singer icon Chad Mitchell. Both men had worked together before. Shaw and Mitchell decided to collaborate again and create music to benefit Inland Northwest Honor Flight.

The CD goes on sale in the spring of 2013 for $14.99. Pre-orders can be placed online.

The compilation includes Randy Shaw, Chad Mitchell, Doug Clark, Sammy Eubanks, Charlie Ryan, The Seldom Scene, Grammy award winner Sherman Andrus & Lonny Bingle.  Artists are donating 100% of their profits to the charity.
