SPOKANE -- City crews are gearing up for what could be the first snowstorm of the season. And they say you won't see much of a difference in the plows, at least not yet.
We are not expecting to get all that much snow but the city says it will be ready for whatever we do get. City crews have been attaching snowplows and filling up the tanker trucks with de-icer. They'll keep an eye on the weather overnight to see it it gets cold enough to freeze. That's wen they'll send out the de-icing trucks.
The city announced a new snow emergency plan a few weeks ago. That plan tells people when to move their cars for the plows. But that won't apply Friday because the city's not expecting a snow emergency. So if there is an inch on the ground, the roads will be plowed.
City plow crews go on their winter schedules this Sunday. That means 20 hour days between two shifts, seven days a week.
