SPOKANE -- Sacred Heart Medical Center officials report a woman hit by a car last week in Downtown Spokane has died of her injuries.

Officials hospitalized Elaine Price-Cornell, 50, after the hit and run crash on November 23. Police arrested the suspect, Cameron Olsness, believed to be driving the car that hit Cornell, a short time later.

According to court documents, Olsness, 29, had been drinking alcohol prior to the crash, and visited five bars.

Police reports allege Olsness and his girlfriend were in the vehicle, and hit Price-Cornell near Spokane Falls Boulevard and Browne. The report states Olsness backed up and attempted to go around the woman, and possibly ran over her a second time.

A witness followed the couple's vehicle and saw the two jump out and run.  A sheriff's helicopter spotted the couple, leading to their arrests.

Surveillance video shows Olsness jumping over a barbed wire fence.  Police caught him shortly after along with his girlfriend.  Olsness is also accused of hitting his girlfriend.  She was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center with life threatening injuries.

Police are looking for a second vehicle believed to be behind Olsness's.  It is possible that vehicle also ran over the woman.
