SPOKANE -- Some Gonzaga University students are braving the elements to get the best seat in the Kennel when the Bulldogs take on Saint Mary's Thursday night.
The area around the McCarthy Athletic Center Tuesday night was littered with tents. Inside, students have set up everything they need to last until game night.
The matchup is big because both teams are at the top of the WCC standings. Right now, Gonzaga is 1/2 game behind conference leader Saint Mary's.
Despite big wins against Portland (76-49 on Thursday) and Memphis (66-58 on Saturday), the Bulldogs only moved up to No. 16 in the Associated Press Top 25 (they were No. 17 last week). The Zags also climbed No.11 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll (they were ranked 13th last week).
