MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — Authorities say two teens have been charged in connection to the shooting of several vehicles over a three-hour period on State Highway 8 in northern Idaho.
The Lewiston Tribune reports the 14-year-olds, Austin Rickert and Austin Medlock, appeared at a closed hearing in juvenile court on Monday. Each of the teens has been charged with two counts of unlawful discharge of a firearm at a vehicle, a felony offense.
Latah County sheriff's officers arrested the Deary High School students after receiving at least 20 reports of vehicles being hit by shots fired Friday on the rural roadway.
The sheriff's office said no one was hurt and a majority of the vehicles hit were tractor-trailer rigs.
The teens have since been released into the custody of their parents.
