COEUR d'ALENE -- The Kootenai County Sheriff's Department arrested a teenager who they say robbed a coffee stand at gunpoint early Wednesday morning in Coeur d'Alene.
It happened around 6:20 a.m. at the Sunshine Espresso near the intersection of Ironwood Drive and Government Way. We're told the suspect did not get away with any money.
Then, a Kootenai County deputy in plain clothes happened to be nearby and heard the radio broadcast on the suspect. That deputy located the man walking about two blocks from the coffee stand.
The deputy held the 17 year old suspect at gunpoint until others arrived to take him into custody. Deputies say the teen was carrying a handgun.
Because the suspect is a minor, they're not releasing his name. However, they say if the courts charge him as an adult, his information will be made available.
