SPOKANE -- Students packed the Crosby Student Center Friday night to watch the Bulldogs play against Florida State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. With a win under the Zags belt, fans are now setting their sights on Sunday.
There were easily over 100 people in the Crosby Student Center. After a first half where Gonzaga dominated, people started to leave. They were not really paying much attention. They said they thought the game was in the bag when Gonzaga went up 18 points.
But in the second half, the Bulldogs started giving up points and Florida State closed the gap. That is when things got serious at the Crosby Center. All the way until the final basket students were glued to the T.V. Now those students are looking ahead to a very tough game against Syracuse.
Syracuse is the number one team in the country. They won Friday night with a huge blowout 79-56 over Vermont. Gonzaga takes on the Syracuse Orange Sunday at 9:10 a.m. pacific on KREM 2.
