Burglary suspect caught after returning to the scene of the crime

SPOKANE COUNTY-- Responding Deputies from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office arrested a person caught in act of committing a garage burglary. 

At 5:50 Friday morning, Deputies responded to the scene of a garage burglary in progress at 6500 North Jensen Road.
 
They arrested 29-year-old Dustin Lang of Spokane after deputies were able to locate Lang and take him into custody.
 
A witness saw Lang breaking into the garage and confronted him. Lang threatened the witness with a knife before running away into a near-by field. Responding deputies searched the area Lang was last seen with a Spokane Police Department K-9 unit. 
 
Deputies and the K-9 were not able to locate Lang but were able to recover the knife and Lang’s vehicle which were left behind. 
 
After deputies left the area Lang came back and another witness called 911, keeping Lang in sight until deputies arrived and took him into custody. The suspect was positively identified by the witnesses. 
 
Lang was arrested for an outstanding warrant and charged with 1st degree burglary and 3 counts of vehicle prowling. Items from others vehicle prowling and thefts were found in Lang’s vehicle and recovered by deputies.
