MOSES LAKE, WA. -- Grant County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 13-year-old boy Wednesday after he engaged in a shootout with officers.
Deputies were called to the 20,000 block of North Frontage Road Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. where a woman claimed her son was throwing rocks at her car.
Deputies arrived at the home and say the boy fired several rounds at them with a .22 caliber rifle, striking the vehicles the deputies were driving.
Officials say shots were exchanged between the deputies and the boy, however, no one was injured.
Deputies say the boy eventually did stop shooting and surrender the weapon. He was safely taken into custody.
The names of the deputies are being withheld until the investigation is complete. They are temporarily on paid administrative leave.
The name of the boy is also being withheld because he is a minor.
