SPOKANE -- The 2010 U.S. Figure Skating Championships is wrapping up the final day of competition as the skaters take to the ice.  Skating fans have traveled from all over the country to watch the U.S. Nationals.

There are thousands of people from Spokane who attended these events.  It's a little easier when it's right in your backyard.  But two ladies traveled nearly 1,000 miles to watch figure skating.

Loretta Hoard and Marion Coleman live in the San Francisco Bay area.  But their heart resides wherever there is a big figure skating competition.  This is the ladies third time in Spokane.  In 2002, they attended Skate America.  They are back in 2010 catching the eyes of passerbys.  You don't have to look hard to see the ladies collect pins from various skating competitions they attend.

Loretta bought a hat when she attended the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.  The Olympic Spirit pin is the most precious to her.  It was given to Loretta from the parent of an Olympic skater.  This is just one way the ladies like to show their figure skating spirit.

The ladies say they really got into the sport back in the early 1990's when one of their Bay area locals, Kristi Yamaguchi, competed in their hometown at the World Championships.
